Oxton Hockey Club uses the Spond app to help manage the club including membership forms. More information about SPOND can be found at www.spond.com
The main benefits of using Spond for club management include improved communication, efficient event organization, and secure, GDPR-compliant messaging.
Spond allows for instant messaging, group chats, and even push notifications to alert members of important information. This feature is particularly useful for last-minute changes, such as weather-related cancellations or adjustments in training times.
Spond is a mobile app or can be used online. It’s got loads of useful features that Oxton use to manage the club and teams
Spond is fully GDPR compliant. The use of WhatsApp to manage teams and communicate on behalf of the club will no longer be permitted.
Junior members have their details managed by Parents or Guardians.
You are welcome to come along to three sessions of Hockey to get the feel of the club before you will be asked to formally join but All prospective and current members of Oxton Hockey Club are required to complete the registration form to Register.
Once you have Spond and been approved, you will be assigned to a membership categories and groups and a payment request will be made for the payment of the membership fee:
As a guardian, you will be able to manage all of your children’s Spond invitations. You will be able to reply to events that the child has been invited to, and to receive push notifications when new information is added to the group. If the child is old enough to reply themselves, it is also possible for admin to add a contact point on the child (member) so they can respond to events etc. in the same way as the guardians.
There is no limit as to how many guardians each single child can have.
As a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC), Oxton Hockey Club is committed to making hockey accessible to all, with membership categories and fee structures designed to encourage broad participation across our community. Click here to view our Membership Fee & Accessibility Policy

At Oxton Hockey Club, we are committed to providing an inclusive, fair, and transparent environment where all players can develop, enjoy their hockey, and reach their full potential.
Selection for weekend fixtures is guided by four key principles, applied in priority order:
During weeks where player availability exceeds squad size, captains will operate a fair, week-by-week rotation system. For our junior members transitioning into senior hockey (aged 13+), player welfare, safety, and long-term development will always take precedence over match results.
If you or your parents/guardians have any questions regarding selection, please speak informally with your Team Captain or Coach first. Should an issue require further review, it may be escalated to the Youth Coordinator or Club Secretary.
We are keen to support any junior who wishes to use hockey for their Duke of Edinburgh Award, either as activity for those who already play, skill for those new to the sport, or if you wish to volunteer you can help out at Junior Sunday morning training.
